Información

Sculpted slot canyon especially enjoyable in Spring or after recent rains, when the water in the pools is clear and fresh. In Summer and Fall the stagnant pools get murky and stinky.

Cómo llegar

Best done as a shuttle from Bonnie Springs. There are two approaches, one that is short if you have an HCV (no need for 4wd) and one that is longer if you don't have an HCV. The short approach is from Rainbow Springs/Little Zion TH off of Lovell Canyon Rd.

Descenso

Begins with a series of potholes filled with cold water, some deep as chest high-there are no other potholes after these containing water. The canyon itself is not very technical and the raps, although being stated in other beta as being over 100 feet are pretty easy and are mostly low angle. Use the "other beta" for direction through the technical section. The track is an approximation.

Retorno

A boulder field mixed in with sharp brush-this goes for about 1/4 of a mile. Work your way LDC between what looks like a tall boulder in the middle of the canyon and the left wall. You will eventually see red sandstone LDC. Go below the sandstone wall, around a corner and start to work your way down off this section. There are some cairns to help you find the general direction that you should be heading. You should see Bonnie Springs to the NE down on the desert floor. Bonnie Springs is PRVIATE LAND and some care needs to be taken to not trespass. The Exit Track shows an abrupt right turn. This is where the NW corner of Bonnie Springs is. If you follow the track you will stay off of private land. The outline on the map of the Bonnie Springs Private Land is to be used as a guide to stay clear of trespass. It may not be the exact outline, but close enough to guide you around it.
