Dominis Canyon

Unlike the other canyons that pour from Secret Mountain into Secret Canyon, this one is brush free and really pretty. Well worth doing and takes you through the beautiful depths of secret canyon on your exit.

Park at Secret Mountain Trailhead. Hike Secret Mtn. trail past the saddle/ exit drainage. Continue past the Secret cabin to a well defined watercourse of your left sd.

Enter the clean Coconino watercourse. Downclimb Dead Tree 15'. R1: 60' off Knot chock RDC. R2: 120' off tree down chute to ledge. Methodical downclimbing begins here to avoid deep pools. R3: 45' RDC down chute. R4: 200' off tree RDC. Or 120' to ledge and downclimb crack RDC. Downclimb the slopey stairs LDC. R5: 55' off tree. then downclimb LDC to avoid pool. Last Drop 15' Downclimb or Sling dead tree above drop for handline.

From here hike to Secret Canyon and turn left. Many say Secret Canyon is horribly brushy and in spots it is, mostly on the upper bits. All in all we really did not think it was bad at all and the beauty of secret canyon itself, hiking up through some slotted sections was so cool. In one spot you need to gain upcanyon left to bypass a dryfall on a trail. A number of basic and easy / short 5th class climbs will take place here and there. Exit Gully Marked exit on the kml track follows a relatively bushy gully up to the saddle. Exit Secret here and work your way to the saddle.
