Información

The longest exit hike on the Colorado Plateau. The approach only takes about 1 hour and is reasonable. The canyon is good and features crystal clear spring-fed pools. The final drop is better as one rappel if someone is willing to carry a 300 foot rope. Otherwise, a 200 foot rope gets the job done in 2 pitches. The exit hike is roughly 9 miles and is just too long. Even so, there is no need to backpack and carrying the extra weight would make the exit hike much more taxing. The R rating is for the numerous loose talus filled gulley crossings on the exit hike along the river for 1.5 miles. There is nothing technical warranting an R rating.
