Información
canyon shown here had a very spectacular feature - a big drop 340' high. We completed the wall , but my rope was only 300' long, and it left the rope hanging on the wall in space. Very luckily there was a shelf along the drop that we were able to stop on and build another secondary rappel station to be able to finish the drop. If someone wants to do this drop in a single rappel, just bring a long enough rope. PHOTO SHOWN: YANNICK rappelling down the upper part of the wall after doing the overhang above. I got this shot from the shelf-ledge part way down, where we had to built a secondary anchor to reach the bottom
Descenso
the big rappel can be done with a 340' rope. As an option, a 2nd stage rappel can be set up on a ledge with a small stone rock-pile anchor to break up the big drop - But with a limited strength anchor to use if deciding that way down
