Información
Short, but sweet canyon just north of Page, AZ with a tricky downclimb or two, a small amount of easy high-stemming 10-15 off the ground, some nice narrows and good views of the lake on the way out.
0Cómo llegar
Use the same approach as Stateline Canyon either from the pullout off the 89 at the head of Stateline, or from Lone Rock beach by hiking up to the mouth of Stateline canyon, crossing over it near the lake where possible, then cross country hiking east to get to East of Stateline Canyon. The approach from Lone Rock beach is shorter and more scenic, but you have to be able to drive on the sandy beach for a bit to do so. The approach from the head of Stateline adds about 2 miles to the hike. Route map only shows approach from Lone Rock beach and makes it look like you are hiking in the lake since the water level on the lake was higher at the time the map was made.
Descenso
Stem and downclimb through the canyon. Up to 30' and exposure in a couple spots. Poor rock quality makes some of the moves a bit challenging. There may be a handline at one of the downclimbs. Kneepads may be nice; bring a short rope if you're unsure about doing some slightly exposed downclimbing. Deep unavoidable pool towards the end.
