Emesine Cave

Emesine Cave is a lava tube formed by the 1881 flow. It is the upstream portion of Kaumana Cave (which is a county park in Hilo). It is reported to be in pristine condition. Emesine Cave has more than 9 miles of surveyed passageway. It is a 2.5 mile approach walk from the paved road. The coordinates given are to a geocache location reported to be right near (or at) the entrance. CRF report Emesine Cave pg 6
