Geo Hazard

This canyon is super short with a single mandatory rappel. Not much for excitement but the area is beautiful. If you've never been to Afton this would pair well for a first trip, along with the Afton Canyon Slot

There is zero approach but there is a long shuttle. From the exit parking spot, it is about 14 miles to the top. Most of the road is pretty mild and sandy with the exception of the end, it does get tougher and which I recommend a high clearance 4x4. Also consider that the river crossings at the time of this report were in easy mode, shallow and filled in. This may not always be the case, or the water level might be higher making the crossing impossible.

There are two main drainages at the top, we opted for the west one. Would be interesting for another party to explore the other one. The rappel is below where both drainages meet. The descent is pretty straight forward, with hiking and minor down climbing before the rappel. Note that this may change drastically. R1 is anchored off a wedged rock canyon left. Careful with loose rocks throughout the rappel and protect the rope on the sharp edge
