Información
A long but scenic approach to two fantastic rappels that will land you in the depths of Fay Canyon. If weather is turning on the Grizzly approach, this could be a quick and safe bail option.
Cómo llegar
Start at Bear Mountain trail head and work your way 2.5 miles and 1975ft to the summit and trail end. This scenic yet strenuous hike is only the beginning as you head North along the top ridge, swimming through manzanita along faint game trails laced with Arizona agave. Work your way towards the center of the ridge as it begins to drop and narrow. The landmark for the turnoff is a large barkless dead tree with long mangled branches and a small agave at its base. This tree stands on the side of the sheer cliff face on the left of the ridge (opposite Fay Canyon). Head east into the drainage staying in the left sd until your reach r1 at the base of a Large juniper.
