Hercules Canyon

This canyon has an awesome 610' rappel from the anchor. There is a ledge part of the way down, and can also be done as a two stage rappel. Part of our group descended the 610' drop non-stop to the bottom. And the rest did it as 2 stage rap. The reasoning was that it could have a rope pull issue when the rope fell. It could land on the ledge and get stuck there, and end up having a "hung rope" and not being able to get it down. Parties in the future have that choice - drop the entire length and gamble you will get your rope back, or choose the more prudent option of doing it in 2 stages
