A fun canyon off horse mesa with a quick approach and exit combined with a few rappels, easy downclimbs, and a beautiful clean section of slot. Following an ancient watercourse, this is a mellow canyon perfect for those looking for a short adventure close to town.
Cómo llegar
Approach from Jacks Canyon trailhead. Social trails to the mesa provide a few different approach options. Once on top of the mesa, head north to the drainage. Drop in where the brush clears and navigate to R1.
Descenso
R1: 80' off tree high RDC or off of rock pinch set back in water course. Multi stage. or 35' to first ledge, downclimb RDC to 2nd ledge, and LDC to the bottom. R2: 25' off pinch in boulder pile set back about 15'. Possible downclimb RDC shelf. R3: 50’ from pinch point on Boulder set back in water course. Optional Downclimb in 30' chimney RDC. Next drop downclimb 15' or bypass RDC. R4: 30' off tree LDC down chute.
