Información
Jibaro is one of my favorite canyons for this region. A beautiful canyon for a nice day on the river. Interesting lower narrow section and numerous rappels. This Canyon has natural anchorage with plenty of opportunity to build and rebuild anchorage. Do not place bolts in this or any other canyon in the region. It is illegal to place bolts and there is plenty of opportunities to build natural anchorage. Keep it that way. Do not enter this canyon if you do not have the knowledge to entirely inspect and replace anchorage. Do not assume anchorage is prepared to hold any load bearing weight upon your arrival. Bring anchorage replacement material and be prepared to replace all anchorage. This canyon floods and becomes hot. The sunbaked and worn webbing can break. Inspect and Replace all anchorage.
Cómo llegar
Park at the AZ hotsprings parking lot and make your way down the wash. Navigate your way to the top and start heading down. There are two forks to Jibaro, the north fork is more scenic and has an additional 2 rappels including a 170 ft rappel. You can also access Jabroni canyon after these two rappels..
