Missouri Creek Gorge

This is not a destination canyon and does not offer much technically. However, this is a novel granite slot with one 15' waterfall. On the hike to Missouri Lake in the Sawatch Range south of Minturn and north of Leadville, the trail passes this granite gorge. Descending the granite gorge is added here to document the slot.

Drive south on CO 24 from Minturn. Turn west on Homestead Reservoir Rd (FS 703) and right/north on Missouri Creek Rd (FS 704). Park at the Missouri Lakes Trailhead (39.39010, -106.47069) Hike the Missouri Lakes Trail (#2003) a mile and a half to a clearing after getting several views of the gorge along the way. Depart the trail and follow a short social trail to the top of the granite gorge.
