Redemption Canyon

6 of the 8 rappels require water trap or sandtrap anchors. Water trap anchor is required gear in addition to sandtrap. Potshots may be necessary for one or two pothole escapes. Under most conditions partner assist and creativity is sufficient for pothole escapes. Not for beginners. The canyon is very narrow in places, short but engaging sections of high stemming will be mandatory for bigger people. (180lbs+). This canyon is close to pristine. Be sure to not add rope grooves. Also, watch for prodigious poison in alcoves and at the exit.

If doing the direct approach from the highway to the head of the canyon, it is only approximately 4 miles and would allow for the canyon to be done in one long day. This would likely take at least 12 to 14 hours. However, the direct approach is unknown.
