Ringtail Canyon

Hike down Fence Canyon. Hike down Escalante River. Pass canyon. Hike up to flat area. Hike along canyon, with canyon on your left to drop in.

Canyon starts out fairly open with a few stemming and downclimbing sections. Hike RDC around few major potholes and minor drops. Reach narrow downclimb into deep swimmer pothole or hike LDC to spot to meat anchor and partner capture. R1: 10'-15' off of log jammed above into keeper pothole, depending on water level. Pot hole 1: About 9' lip. Pot shot toss from log before rappel. If water level is low, pot shot toss from inside pothole or partner shoulder climb assist out. Other side of pot hole is about 20' down to something that a pot shot can wedge into. Pot hole 2: Easy partner assist out or bag toss into wedge. Narrow, dark, tunnel sections. Emerge back into the light of the sun.
