Información

While not the narrowest, nor most sculpted in the area, the canyon is a fun detour and provides a few small, thought provoking, drops.

Cómo llegar

Approach from a small pullout on the west side of highway 89 at the head of the canyon or from Lone Rock beach, explore the canyon, return to your car.

Descenso

R1: >50ft sling a big flat horn-slab high RDC or sand trap Slinging slab may create retrieval issues or rope grooves, best to collect on the way back if not sand trapping. R2: >50ft tiny arch LDC or sand trap Arch can be fiddled, but longevity and safety are questionable especially if rock is wet. Canyon is more committing past this drop, be aware that escape from beyond here requires 4th/5th class moqui scrambling, which may be difficult if rock is wet. R3: >50ft This drop worked well with a sand trap. There is a nice pocket before the tight narrows leading down to the drop. Place the sandtrap in the pocket and toss the rope though narrows. Stem above squeeze, then downclimb into wider section to get on rope. Previous parties have mined blocks from upcanyon for a deadman here, but materials are sparse and crumbly. Not recommended. Past this last rap look for exit bowl downcanyon on DCR.
