Stonyvale Gulch

A very short drainage with just one rappel. You drop in right off the road and within 5-10 minutes you are at the rappel. Could be combined with E Canyon or Wildwood Canyon for a half day of canyoneering.

Park at 34.2849, -118.2206 or in a nearby turnout. Drop in at 34.2853, -118.2215. Perhaps the shortest approach in the history of canyoneering. Just make sure you drop into the correct drainage. It's not very big.

Go down the steep slope into the drainage. It's a little brushy but not too bad. Within a few minutes there is a short down-climb and you are at the top of the rappel. Rappel 1: 180' from a bush RDC. The rock is a bit crumbly so be careful not to knock stuff down on the person rappelling. There is a kind of sloping ledge about halfway down. Once at the bottom move out of the path of rock fall.
