Wildwood Canyon

An extremely short (200' total elevation loss) canyon ending at the Wildwood Picnic Area with one decent rappel.

Park a retrieval vehicle at the very end of Wildwood Picnic Area. Either drive or walk back out to Big Tujunga Canyon Road, turn right, and proceed 0.4 miles to a small dirt turnout. Or, there are two larger turnouts on the opposite side of the road.

Follow a long pipe into the canyon. It's a little brushy dropping in from the pipe but the bushwhack is short. Another option would be to come in from the main fork, 34.2943, -118.2366. The first obstacle dropping in from the pipe entrance is a short overhanging downclimb of 6-8 feet. Continue downcanyon through a relatively flat area to reach the rappel. Rappel 1: 60' off of a bolted anchor RDC through a hanging pothole.
