Información

A large seasonal waterfall in the Oregon Coast Range. While not a major canyon destination, it's a nice one to run if you want to get out for a quick shortie adventure in the winter when everything else is running high. Decent access, takes only a couple hours, and could be combined with other destinations in the area. Don't bother with this one the rest of the year.

Cómo llegar

Park in a large pullout just off Jones Creek Rd. Walk past the gate and follow the powerline access road about a half-mile to its end where it meets the Wilson River Trail. Follow the trail west for 0.7mi, passing the falls along the way. At the top of the next switchback, break off-trail, and follow an old logging track up to the top of the falls. This is a nice mellow ramp that's become a bit of a deer trail. Once above the falls, thrash down the ridge to the top. There is a lot of thorny salmonberry just above the falls.

Descenso

Land on a bit of a platform just before the creek becomes a jumble of fallen rocks and logs. There's a faint user trail DCR that leads down to the trail. Further Explorations: There's a second 40ft drop below the trail. The rappel does not go into the river, but getting back out might be tricky (ex: requiring re-ascending your rope or crossing the Wilson River).
